UK Supplement Trends — December 2025: winter beauty and immunity
Part of The Formulation Index, Supplement Factory’s monthly read on what UK brands are actually briefing us to make.
December ran two themes at once. The immune base held into the depth of winter, Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 both rising to 38% as cold-season demand peaked, while Calcium led the board at 41%. On top of that immune foundation, the beauty category surged into the party and gifting season.
Ingredient in focus: Collagen
Collagen climbed to 28% of all quotes and Hyaluronic Acid to 13%, the beauty-from-within pairing gaining real weight as December’s gifting and self-treat demand came through. The end of the year is when premium beauty supplements sell, and the briefs reflect it: this is the season of the giftable format, the sachet, the beauty shot, the elegantly packaged powder, where the presentation is as much of the product as the active. Collagen’s steady climb through the autumn into this December peak is one of the clearest structural trends in the whole dataset.
What else moved
Selenium held at 23% and Vitamin B5 rose to 33%, the immune and skin-health themes overlapping neatly, since several beauty actives double as winter-wellness ingredients. It made for a coherent month: immunity and beauty, the two things UK consumers buy most in December.
What it means for brands
December’s lesson is about timing and format. Beauty and immune demand peak together at year end, but the products that capture it are conceived months earlier and, crucially, are built to be given and displayed. If premium beauty is your space, the format and packaging decision is not a finishing touch, it is the commercial heart of the product. Plan the gift, not just the formula.
Then came January, and with it the single biggest demand surge of the year.
